Rob:
Thanks for the tip. I had a look at the journal, and the call for future papers looks really interesting from a combined sociology/IR perspective. There is interest in Bourdieu, Foucault, Luhmann, etc. There are also some interesting institutional studies of UNHCR, and other trans-national actors who do not fit well within state-centric ways of thinking typically found in Political Science or International Relations.

I am a sociologist, so was attracted to the description of a number of articles, and will look them up. There was less perhaps for anthropologists who tend to put culture more at the center of their discipline and interests. But certainly the journal does look like it succeeds in going beyond the narrower focus I blogged about here!

Tony,

You might want to check out a somewhat newish IR journal called International Political Sociology - it seems to be a more inclusive type of journal in the IR field that brings in some of the things that might be of interest to you.

Mark--I like your first impulse to express an opinion ungrounded in data. This is the culturally appropriate way to respond in much of today's blog world, and after all ethnography.com is about culture, so have at it!

On the other hand erudite responses with big words like antidisestablishmentarianism that nobody understands are also culturally appropriate in some academic worlds.

I look forward to your reply!

You're wrong Tony! WRONG!! Oh, wait... I have not read the entry yet. If you could get your posts read on "American Idol" it would really help me out a lot.
